Measuring Girth for Leotards
The most frequent questions we get at Whitney Deal Dancewear, are ALL about sizing. We get it. Sizing is tough. Especially for dancewear -- so we have a handy size chart available on our site to guide you in the right direction.
However, we have a rule of thumb for deciding on sizes. For dancewear separates, we typically say go true to size. You want those pieces to be snug and not loose (especially in the briefs). But as for leotards, there is a length or "girth" issue we're always thinking about. When the girth of the dancer becomes too long for the leotard, it gets tight and uncomfortable on the dancer.
So, the rule of thumb in leotards is that in order to get the longest wear out of the leo, go up in size especially if you're sitting in-between sizes. Your dancer will thank you!
If you still find yourself stuck on deciding on which size to go with, feel free to send a message and we'll help guide you in the right direction.
